Mobility Week Schedule of Events

The third annual statewide Mobility Week is an annual collection of events intended to bring attention to safe multimodal transportation choices. During Mobility Week, cities, counties and transportation partner agencies conduct events to promote transportation choices, highlight transportation achievements, and roll out new initiatives or policies. Palm Tran to Provide Free Transit on Election Day - Nov. 3

Palm Tran Offers Free Transit Rides on Election Day 11/3/2020

Take Palm Tran free to the polls and vote! Palm Tran will be providing free transit service on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3. This includes rides on Palm Tran's fixed-route bus system, Palm Tran Connection paratransit system for the disabled and otherwise transportation disadvantaged, and the dial-a-ride Go Glades transit service in our western communities.

The Palm Beach TPA is hosting a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Lane Repurposing Training Workshop for its local agency partners to learn about the latest successful practices for implementing lane repurposing projects. Proposals are being accepted until November 15 for Safe Streets Summit conference speakers. Speakers should be champions of Complete Streets who can showcase successful efforts, and proposals must speak to the integration of equity and inclusion.

SUN Trail Funding Applications Due Dec. 10

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is currently soliciting Regional Trail System and Individual Trail projects through the Shared-Use Nonmotorized (SUN) Trail program. Interested parties are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the SUN Trail Program Guidance and to submit SUN Trail Request for Funding applications by December 10 at 3:00 p.m. FDOT must receive separate, complete applications including required signatures for each eligible project. Safe Routes to School Applications Due Dec. 31 

FDOT has created a statewide Safe Routes to School Program using federal safety funds and has issued an annual call for applications through December 31. Florida's Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program can help communities address their school transportation needs and encourage more students to walk or cycle to school. Safety Funding Available for Law Enforcement 

FDOT has funding available for law enforcement agencies to conduct High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) operations to improve pedestrian and bicyclist safety. Requests for contract proposals will be accepted until funds are exhausted. For more information, visit AlertTodayFlorida.com/HVE.

FDOT has converted its 2020 Transportation Symposium to a series of one-hour webinars to keep staff and industry partners up-to-date with DOT policies, procedures, and best practices. Palm Tran Bus Delivers Breast Cancer Awareness Message

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Palm Tran debuted its annual bus design to promote the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. The 30th anniversary of the event will be held virtually on January 30, 2021.
