Palm Beach Gardens Railroad Crossing Closure Begins Nov. 30
Hood Road Closure through December 15
Brightline has announced a full road closure at the railroad crossing at Hood Road in Palm Beach Gardens from November 30 to December 15. The closure will extend from just east of Evergrene Parkway to Alternate A1A/Old Dixie Highway. The closure is necessary while Brightline completes railroad crossing upgrades as part of its second phase to extend passenger rail service from West Palm Beach to Orlando International Airport. Safe Routes to School Applications Due Dec. 31
FDOT has created a statewide Safe Routes to School Program using federal safety funds and has issued an annual call for applications through December 31. Florida's Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program can help communities address their school transportation needs and encourage more students to walk or cycle to school. Safety Funding Available for Law Enforcement
FDOT has funding available for law enforcement agencies to conduct High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) operations to improve pedestrian and bicyclist safety. Requests for contract proposals will be accepted until funds are exhausted. For more information, visit AlertTodayFlorida.com/HVE.
