Work Begins on a New TPA Office!

Demolition of the existing storefront recently began as the first visible step to renovate a long-standing vacant building at the northwest corner of Datura St. and Olive Ave. in the heart of downtown West Palm Beach. The Palm Beach Transportation Planning Agency (TPA) has leased the building at 301 Datura St. for their new office in an area that is bustling with growth and construction. Nearby streetscape projects are providing a growing network of Complete Streets to serve all users including pedestrians and cyclists.

Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month

May is Motorcycle Safety Month

May has been designated as Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month to remind everyone to be on the alert and to share the road.

Both motorcyclists and motorists need to remain aware of their surroundings by frequently checking blind spots and mirrors, and use turn signals when changing lanes or passing.

Distracted driving could mean the difference in whether or not a motorcyclist is seen, especially when changing lanes.

Riders should take precautions such as taking a defensive driving course, wearing helmets and protective gear, and keeping bikes in good working condition. They should look for road hazards and weather conditions that affect safety.

For more information, go to nhtsa.gov/road-safety/motorcycle-safety.
