The Florida Dept. of Transportation is hosting this informal public open house prior to construction which is scheduled to begin in late May. Completion is scheduled for summer 2021. Project plans will be on display and staff will be available to answer questions and address individual concerns.
This $33 million project includes:
- Widening from four to six traffic lanes
- Adding a shared use pathway
- Adding paved shoulders
- Adding buffered bike lanes in the urban area
- Adding new drainage
- Installing new highway lighting
- Installing new signs and pavement markings

History and Roles Highlighted in Board Member Training
The Metropolitan Planning Organization Advisory Council (MPOAC) conducts a weekend training institute twice each year for Board members from around the state. On May 7, the Palm Beach TPA sponsored an abbreviated training session and offers thanks to the City of West Palm Beach for providing meeting space and audio/visual support.

TPA Supports Free Bike Valet at SunFest
The Palm Beach TPA partnered with the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA) for the 4th year to provide safety items to bicyclists using the free bike valet operated by the DDA adjacent to the SunFest event held May 3-6. In addition to giveaways of bike headlights, taillights, bike bells and reflective drawstring backpacks to improve the safety of riders, riders were also offered an opportunity to participate in a TPA survey to better plan the future transportation system for Palm Beach County and the southeast Florida region.

TPA Presents to Council for the Blind
Palm Beach TPA Executive Director Nick Uhren presented to the Florida Rehabilitation Council for the Blind at their quarterly meeting on May 3 in West Palm Beach.
