Celebrate Florida Bicycle Month With the TPA!

March is Florida Bicycle Month! The TPA encourages local governments and partner agencies to participate and host events promoting bicycling  and bicycle safety, in addition to adopting a Florida Bicycle Month Proclamation. For more information, visit WalkBikePalmBeach.org.

Community Profiles Dashboard

The Palm Beach TPA created a new Community Profiles Dashboard that provides easy
access to socioeconomic data, maps of transportation facilities, and the TPA’s Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) projects for each municipality and County Commission District in Palm Beach County. Check out the new dashboard at PalmBeachTPA.org/Profiles.


Palm Tran Unveils New Headquarters in Delray Beach

On March 2nd, 2021 Palm Tran celebrated their 50th Anniversary as well as the grand opening of its new headquarters in Delray Beach, a facility the TPA helped to fund.

TPA Governing Board and advisory committee meetings are currently being held as a combination of in-person meetings at the TPA office and virtual meetings on the Zoom webinar platform. To accommodate social distancing, there will be limited space for in-person attendees. Please review the guidance at the top of each meeting agenda.  

Governing Board meetings are simulcast at palmbeachtpa.org/live, and recorded videos of TPA meetings are posted to the TPA YouTube channel.


The Palm Beach TPA Welcomes New Staff Member

Robin Pribramsky
Executive Secretary

Robin joined the TPA in 2021. Originally from Chicago, she lived in the Florida Keys for 16 years and recently relocated from Miami. She has a bachelor’s degree in International Business from Illinois State University. Her background consists of providing administrative support across various industries including insurance, accounting, real estate, hospitality, and publishing.


Complete Streets Act of 2021

Senator Edward J. Markey (MA) and Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) have re-introduced the Complete Streets Act of 2019, a bill that promotes safer and more accessible street design across the United States. For more information, visit SmartGrowthAmerica.org/The-Complete-Streets-Act-Is-Back.


Strategic Highway Safety Plan Public Comment Period

The draft Florida Strategic Highway Safety Plan is available and open for public comment through March 10, 2021. Visit FDOT.gov/Safety to read the plan and complete the comment form.


Dangerous By Design 2021

On March 10, 2021, Smart Growth America will release Dangerous By Design 2021, providing an updated picture of how dangerous each state and the largest metro areas are for people walking. Register here for a webinar on March 25 to hear from experts about the report findings. 


OutRide Fund Grant Application Is Open

Winter 2021 applications for OutRide Fund grants are due March 11, 2021. The OutRide Fund offers matching grants up to $15,000 to support projects related to youth cycling. Learn more at OutrideBike.org/Outride-Fund


Florida Bicycle Association Virtual Seminar Series

The Florida Bicycle Association (FBA) is hosting a Virtual Seminar Series for Florida Bicycle Month in March and National Bike Month in May. The first seminar will take place on Friday, March 12 at 12:00 PM and will discuss Bicycle Infrastructure 101 and FBA's Assistance Program for Advocates. 2021 Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) Grant

The 2021 INFRA discretionary grant program funds transportation projects of national and regional significance with a focus on climate change and environmental justice. The deadline to apply is March 19, 2021. For more information, visit Transportation.gov/BuildAmerica/Financing.


Nominations for Excellence in Transportation Planning

FDOT is recognizing planners, organizations, and projects that represent outstanding transportation planning achievements. Learn more here about the nomination process. The deadline for nominations is March 19, 2021.


Transportation Awareness Day 2021

The Florida Public Transportation Association (FPTA) and the Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged are hosting the annual Transportation Awareness Day on March 29, 2021 from 1:30 - 3:00 PM via Zoom. A draft schedule and link to register for free can be found here.


AARP Community Challenge Grant

The 2021 AARP Community Challenge offers small grants to fund “quick-action” projects that can help communities become more livable for people of all ages. The application period is now open until April 14, 2021. Learn more at AARP.org/Livable-Communities/Community-Challenge/.


2021 National Roadway Safety Awards

The Roadway Safety Foundation and Federal Highway Administration are now accepting applications for the 2021 National Roadway Safety Awards to recognize successful roadway safety solutions that contribute to the goal of zero deaths and serious injuries on our nation’s roadways. Safety Funding Available for Law Enforcement 

FDOT has funding available for law enforcement agencies to conduct High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) operations to improve pedestrian and bicyclist safety. Requests for contract proposals will be accepted until funds are exhausted. Learn more at AlertTodayFlorida.com/HVE.
