Boynton Beach Adopts a Complete Streets Policy
Congratulations to the City of Boynton Beach for adopting a Complete Streets Policy on June 16. Similar stand alone policies have been adopted by the City of Delray Beach and the Palm Beach TPA. Both the City of West Palm Beach and the Town of Jupiter have adopted Complete Streets policies within the Transportation Element of their Comprehensive Plans. The TPA continues to encourage other local municipalities to adopt similar policies and has created a Model Complete Streets Policy and Policy Development Guidance that can be tailored to fit each municipality. More information regarding Complete Streets policies can be found on the National Complete Streets Coalition's website. Bike Friendly Community Designations - Applications Due August 12

The League of American Bicyclists - formed in 1880 - solicits applications to designate Bicycle Friendly Communities. They state, "A BFC welcomes bicyclists by providing safe accommodations for bicycling and encouraging people to bike for transportation and recreation. Making bicycling safe and convenient are keys to improving public health, reducing traffic congestion, improving air quality and improving quality of life." Click to learn more.

Draft Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)
Fiscal Years 2021-2025
The TPA is currently soliciting public comments on its draft Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for the upcoming five fiscal years. Go to PalmBeachTPA.org/TIP to review the draft TIP and offer comments using a convenient online public comment form. The draft TIP will be considered for adoption by the TPA Governing Board on June 18.

US-1 Resurfacing Project - Delray Beach
Project limits: South of Eve Street to south of Harbourside Drive. Project improvements include roadway resurfacing, drainage, signalization and signage improvements, pavement marking upgrades including roadway striping for bike lanes, and sidewalk removal and replacement. Construction will begin on June 29.
