Full Road Closures at FEC Railroad Crossings
During Brightline Construction

For the latest impacts on northern Palm Beach County roadways as Brightline continues its Phase 2 construction to Orlando, go to  Brightline construction updates.


Jupiter - Railroad crossing at Indiantown Rd. 

Continuous full road closure, through 6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 22.
Closure is necessary to install railroad crossing improvements including the construction of new tracks, upgrades to the existing railroad signalization and road work.

Detour Information: • Westbound Indiantown Rd. traffic wishing to continue west will travel south on Alternate A1A/SR 811 to Donald Ross Rd., travel west on Donald Ross Rd. to Military Tr. and travel north on Military Tr. to access Indiantown Rd. • Eastbound Indiantown Rd. traffic wishing to continue east will travel south on Military Trail to Donald Ross Rd., travel east on Donald Ross Rd. to Alternate A1A/SR 811 and travel north on Alternate A1A/SR 811 to access Indiantown Rd.

Regional Transportation Plan Adopted by SEFTC
to be Presented to TPA Board - Sep. 17

Regional Transportation Plan Adopted by the Southeast Florida Regional Transportation Council (SEFTC) on 8/7/20

Every five years, the Southeast Florida  Transportation Council (SEFTC) adopts a Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) to coordinate regional components of the Long Range Transportation Plans adopted by the SEFTC partner agencies: Palm Beach TPA, Miami-Dade TPO, and the Broward MPO. SEFTC adopted the RTP on Aug. 7. Click to review the document. The RTP will be presented to the TPA Governing Board on Sep. 17. Click for meeting details.

Bike Friendly Designations

Bicycle Friendly Communities

The League of American Bicyclists - formed in 1880 - solicits applications to designate Bicycle Friendly Communities. They state, "A BFC welcomes bicyclists by providing safe accommodations for bicycling and encouraging people to bike for transportation and recreation. Making bicycling safe and convenient are keys to improving public health, reducing traffic congestion, improving air quality and improving quality of life."

Apply for the following designations:

  • Bicycle Friendly Community - next deadline is August 26
  • Bicycle Friendly University - next deadline is October 20

Public Participation Plan - 2020 Update

In Oct. 2017, the TPA Governing Board adopted a major update to the TPA's Public Participation Plan (PPP). The PPP is reviewed annually and updated as needed after a public review and comment period. Relatively minor updates are proposed for adoption by the TPA Governing Board at their meeting to be held on Sep. 17. Click to review the draft PPP and complete an online public comment form. Transportation Projects and Highlights

SR A1A / Haven Ashe Bridge Maintenance Project
Over the Boca Raton Inlet

Construction began Aug. 1, for a maximum of 60 days. Vehicular traffic will be detoured during a full bridge closure, while marine traffic will be maintained through the navigable waterway. 


West Atlantic Ave. at I-95 (Delray Beach)

A new configuration for westbound Atlantic Ave. traffic approaching I-95 began July 13. The northernmost, or far right, lane just west of NW 12th Ave. has been designated exclusively as an entrance ramp to access northbound or southbound I-95. This is part of the I-95 interchange modifications at Atlantic Ave. from the El Rio Canal to NW 12th Ave.
