The Palm Beach TPA welcomes Council Member Yvette Drucker, appointed by the City of Boca Raton, and Commissioner Christopher McVoy, appointed by the City of Lake Worth Beach.

The two are among 15 elected municipal officials who serve on the 21-member TPA Governing Board along with five Palm Beach County Commissioners and one elected official representing the Port of Palm Beach.

2021 Earth Day - April 22

April 22nd is Earth Day! Did you know that the transportation sector accounts for the largest share of greenhouse gas emissions in the United States? The TPA's vision of a safe, efficient, and connected multimodal transportation system aligns with the need for more sustainable transportation options like walking, biking, and transit.

You can celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd (and every day!) by going outside for a walk or bike ride and enjoying the natural beauty we have here in Palm Beach County. For  more information about Earth Day, visit EarthDay.org.


SEFTC Coastal Link Workshop

The Southeast Florida Transportation Council (SEFTC) is hosting a virtual workshop to discuss the future implementation of Coastal Link Commuter Rail.

The workshop is scheduled for April 30, 2021 from 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM. Potential speakers include representatives from Brightline, Tri-Rail, and regional representatives from Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties. Register for the workshop here.


April: Beyond the Driver's Seat Month and Distracted Driving Awareness Month

The Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT) Safe Mobility for Life Coalition is celebrating April as Beyond the Driver's Seat Month. The goal of Beyond the Driver's Seat Month is to assist aging drivers to find all transportation options available in their communities and empower them to take advantage of these opportunities. Visit Safe Mobility for Life's Resource Center to share resources with your community.

April is also Distracted Driving Awareness Month. You can join the conversation and share resources from organizations like National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and National Safety Council


2021 National Bike to School Day - May 5

On May 5, 2021 communities across the nation will walk and roll to support safe, active travel as part of the 10th annual National Bike to School Day. Registration is open to families, neighborhoods, and schools. For more information and to register, visit WalkBikeToSchool.org.


Palm Beach TPA on Transit Unplugged Podcast

The Future of Public Transportation

The TPA hosted a presentation by author Paul Comfort on his book The Future of Public Transportation on March 23, 2021. If you missed it, you can watch the recording here.


Environmental Justice Collaborative Problem-Solving (EJCPS) Cooperative Agreement Program

The EJCPS Cooperative Agreement Program offers financial assistance in amounts up to $160,000 per award to eligible organizations for projects that address local environmental and/or public health issues in their communities. 2021 National Roadway Safety Awards

The Roadway Safety Foundation and Federal Highway Administration are now accepting applications for the 2021 National Roadway Safety Awards to recognize successful roadway safety solutions that contribute to the goal of zero deaths and serious injuries on our nation’s roadways. Safety Funding Available for Law Enforcement 

FDOT has funding available for law enforcement agencies to conduct High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) operations to improve pedestrian and bicyclist safety. Requests for contract proposals will be accepted until funds are exhausted. Learn more at AlertTodayFlorida.com/HVE.

FDOT Non-Motorized Traffic Monitoring Program Annual Meeting

The FHWA is hosting a webinar series on Value Capture Strategies from March - October, 2021. The webinar series will review Value Capture techniques promoted in the FHWA's Every Day Count (EDC-5) initiative, with a focus on the intersection of innovative finance and innovative project delivery tools. TPA Governing Board and advisory committee meetings are currently being held as a combination of in-person meetings at the TPA office and virtual meetings on the Zoom webinar platform. To accommodate social distancing, there will be limited space for in-person attendees. Please review the guidance at the top of each meeting agenda.  

Governing Board meetings are simulcast at PalmBeachTPA.org/Live, and recorded videos of TPA meetings are posted to the TPA YouTube channel.
