The new I-95 interchange at Spanish River Blvd. in Boca Raton is nearing completion. Every new lane opening is celebrated by area commuters including those traveling to and from Florida Atlantic University.

Registration Opens for the 2018 Safe Streets Summit

"Love Your Streets" will be the theme for 2018 Safe Streets Summit that will draw as many as 400 local government officials, urban and transportation planners and engineers, and community advocates. They will gather at the Hilton in downtown West Palm Beach to hear national experts speak on topics related to achieving complete streets that are friendly and comfortable for all users including pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit riders.

SUN Trail Funding Applications Due Dec. 15
The Florida Dept. of Transportation is soliciting new proposals for funding Regional Trail System and Individual Trail projects through the Shared-Use Nonmotorized (SUN) Trail Program. Applications are due by Dec. 15. Projects programmed for this cycle will be funded as early as Fiscal Years 2023-2024. Proposed projects must be included in the MPO's annual List of Priority Projects. For information, go to FloridaSunTrail.com.

Two MPO meetings were held on rescheduled dates due to Hurricane Irma, and the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) for Sep. was canceled. The Bicycle-Trailways-Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BTPAC) met on Sep. 14, and the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) met on Sep. 15. Information on rescheduled and canceled meeting dates was posted in advance on the MPO website.
