Safe Streets Summit 2018 Awards Nominations

The Safe Streets Awards are an opportunity to highlight individuals and jurisdictions that have led by example in creating better streets for all users in Palm Beach, Broward or Miami-Dade counties. One Complete Streets Champion Award winner and one Complete Streets Community Award winner will be selected for each county.

Nominations are also sought for the People's Choice Award for the best complete Streets focused project, to be selected by attendees. People's Choice Award nominees may have the opportunity to participate in a poster session to display project materials and photos.

Upcoming Project Meetings

Boca Raton II Tri-Rail Station - Dec. 5

The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) will hold a Public Alternatives Meeting for a second Tri-Rail station in Boca Raton near Glades Road and Military Trail. The public meeting will be held at the Spanish River Library, 1501 NW Spanish River Blvd., Boca Raton, 33431. The meeting will begin at 6:00 PM, with a brief presentation at 6:15 PM. Funding Opportunities

SUN Trail Funding Applications Due Dec. 15

The Florida Dept. of Transportation is soliciting new proposals for funding Regional Trail System and Individual Trail projects through the Shared-Use Nonmotorized (SUN) Trail Program. Projects programmed for this cycle will be funded as early as Fiscal Years 2023-2024. Proposed projects must be included in the TPA's annual List of Priority Projects. Safe Routes to School Applications Due Dec. 29

Florida is seeking applications to develop, implement and evaluate eligible Safe Routes to School (SRTS) infrastructure projects. For the application and additional details, go to www.srtsfl.org.
