Award-Winning SunFest Bike Valet Program Returns May 3 - 7
For the third year, the MPO is proud to partner with West Palm Beach’s Downtown Development Authority (DDA) on its free SunFest bike valet, now in its eleventh year. The festivals and events industry recognized the DDA for the success of its 2016 bike valet program with two major awards:
Each year, more than 175,000 festival goers make their way into downtown West Palm Beach to the state’s largest waterfront music and arts festival. Over the five-day event, managing traffic congestion and parking is a very high priority, made more challenging by local road closures including Flagler Drive.
The free valet service allows cyclists to ride their bikes to a main SunFest gate at Clematis Street, and leave their bikes in a convenient, supervised and secure area. Many ride bikes from homes or workplaces, or from public facilities where parking is authorized. The DDA and the MPO encourage more people to ride bikes to SunFest from May 3-7. Riding a bike to SunFest is part of the fun!
